SELENA GOMEZ IS WOMAN OF THE YEAR AT THE 2017 BILLBOARD WOMEN IN MUSIC AWARDS
Selena Gomez tearfully accepts Woman of the Year Award at Billboard's Women in Music 2017.
After being introduced from close friend Elle Fanning and "sister" Francia Raisa, a blonde Selena took the stage to accept the award.
"To be honest, I think Francia should be getting this award because she saved my life," the Wolves singer explained through tears.
"Honestly I couldn't be more grateful for the position that I've been given in my career... I want people to know that I respect the platform that I have so deeply because I knew that I wanted to be a part of something great and wanted people to feel great because I love people." Selena continues.
"I would like to thank my amazing team and family because they stuck with me through some really hard times."
"I've never felt more proud to be a woman in this industry... I am so grateful for all the older women who have helped us up."
After thanking friends Fanning and Raisa, Gomez joking concluded: "I don't know how I'll ever repay it but maybe I'll make an epic album next year." You better hurry up Selena, we can't wait anymore!
During the pink carpet a nervous Selena Gomez had a talk with Chelsea Briggs and Keith Caulfield about her health, her new music, and reuniting with long time boyfriend Justin Bieber.
About her award the star said she's honored. "Honestly, I don't know if I feel like I deserve it sometimes but I am so honored to be part of an industry where there is real movement for women. I think it's important, I couldn't be more thrilled."
About her kidney transplant Selena added: "I'm good. That whole experience made me look at life a little differently and I'm grateful for that. It feels good to be able to share my story the way I want to. I'm good, I'm really good."
When asked about the influence Bieber has had on her life over the last few years, Gomez said that she thinks no one "truly actually cares" and "It's not really my concern anymore" about how people think she should live her life. Selena added: "My family is great. My health is great. I love deeply and I think that's just who I am. I'm not really ashamed."
